Dangerous Games

In 2006/7, Rob wrote a whole album of songs, entitled “Eureka Moment – Chromatic Aberrations”. Here’s one of the tracks from the album, “Dangerous Games”.

Lyrics

Verse 1
Please don’t tell me
you’re the winner, and
the winner takes all…
Would that make me
just a trophy, then,
to hang on your wall?
Refrain:
‘cos when you’re playing your dangerous games,
It hurts me all the time
I always thought that I was to blame–
But feeling’s not a crime.
Bridge 1:
So please don’t gamble on the way I feel:
Love’s not measured by the spin of the wheel
And no deception and none of your lies
Can ever be cancelled by the roll of the dice
Verse 2:
No excuses:
don’t tell me all is fair
in love and in war
No surrender:
you can’t claim victory
when you don’t know the score
Refrain:
And when you’re playing your dangerous games,
You hurt me all the time
You made me think that I was to blame–
But feeling’s not a crime!
Bridge 2:
You don’t deceive me with your poker face:
You play the joker but you claim you’re the ace
Tell me, what’s the use of winning game, set and match,
When love’s worth zero and we’re starting from scratch?
Refrain:
And when you’re playing your dangerous games,
You hurt me all the time
I won’t acknowledge that I was to blame–
‘cos feeling’s not a crime!
